ED419 Life Course Studies
A critical survey of existing scholarly knowledge, research, and theory about the development across the life course, from childhood to late life. Examines how socio-historical forces, timing of transitions, societal institutions, heterogeneity or variability, social ties, human agency, and interpersonal expectations shape the individual’s biographical experience and view of his or her personal past and future. Implications for practice and research are discussed.
